Pulau Perhentian Besar

Pulau Perhentian Besar is an island in Terengganu, Malaysia. It is located about 20 km fromBesut and Setiu districts in the mainland.

There is a smaller island nearby called Pulau Perhentian Kecil. From Besar to Kecil, you can cross for RM 10 and it takes around 5 to 10 minutes.

In this article, I'm going to concentrate on the Besar. This island has a few resorts and the popular one is Perhentian Island Resort.

The resorts on this island have very good restaurants and you get to enjoy the seafood and barbecues which are also open to non-guests.

If you want the alcoholic drinks, you may need to ask for it and of course the prices are higher than those sold on the mainland.

So, what can you do on this island? A lot af activities you can do here especially snorkelling and diving.

You can also do jungle walks and self-basting on the beach.

The best time to go to Pulau Perhentian Besar is from March to early November as this time is not the monsoon season.

Over on this island, the accommodation is concentrated on the western side.

I need to remind you that there are no ATMs or banks here and my suggestion is to bring lots of cash if you plan to spend money on pricey things and services.

There are also no public phones and if you need to make calls, you need to use mobile phones from the resort or hotel but you need to get ready paying the expensive rate.

Internet access is not cheap and probably you have to pay around RM 20 and above.

This island has 3 main beaches and if you stay at Perhentian Island Resort [http://all-langkawi-hotels.com/perhentian-island-resort-malaysia-terengganu.html], you can enjoy the white-sand beach there.
